As the final act of the village WW1 Project, which has commemorated each of the 45 soldiers on the cenotaph individually, with the War Memorial being one hundred years old at the end of next month, we will be holding an event at the War Memorial on Sunday 30th April at 11.15, after a service in the Church where Phil Radford will explain how the memorial came about.
We plan to incorporate some of the elements of the unveiling ceremony in both the church service and the event at the cenotaph.
We would like villagers to “Salute a Soldier” by representing them at the event, and if you would like to do so, do please see the attached posters for more information.
