For Residents and Visitors to Luddenden, West Yorkshire

Visitors

Luddenden is a village in West Yorkshire, England, close to Hebden Bridge. It was designated Conservation Area status in 1973, and the Luddenden Conservation Society, a charity, was established in 1975. The village used to have many shops and a number of churches / chapels and pubs, but now there only remain one pub (the Lord Nelson Inn, frequented by Branwell Bronte when he was employed at Luddendenfoot Railway Station) and one Church (St Mary’s Church). The last Methodist Chapel closed in 2011.

The 1970’s ITV series “In Loving Memory” starring Thora Hird and Christopher Beeny was filmed in the village.
