The Luddenden Conservation Society normally meets on the last Thursday of each month (except December) at 7.30pm in the Lord Nelson Inn. All welcome.
The Gardening Club meet first Tuesday of each month at St Mary’s Church at 7.30pm. New members welcome
The Mayor’s Fund Committee also meet the first Tuesday of each month at 7.15pm in the Lord Nelson.
Tuesday 25th April – noon at the war memorial – commemoration of Willie Mitchell (WW1 Commemoration Project)
Thursday 27th April – 7.30 in the Lord Nelson – Mr. Rob Hamilton from the Halifax Great War Society will give a talk entitled ‘The Amazing Mrs. Humphries’. At a time towards the end of Victoria’s reign, when women very rarely ventured far by themselves, Mrs. Humphries, who was a Luddenden resident, became a notable explorer, and travelled all over the world in her expeditions. Everyone welcome (no charge). Food will be available (chargeable).
